Environmentally responsible business with Web2Print - 09/01/2009.

The environmental theme becomes more important for the graphics industry, just think about trendy words like "eco printer" or "green printing". Moreover, your customers just demand more respect and efforts for the environment and the quality of life. To do business in a more environmental-friendly manner, you can have a look at the "Top Ten Green Printing Practices" list. But meanwhile read at least the below top practice from that list.
Practice: "Communicate without paper"
Digital communication results in declining usage of paper and corresponding costs. Next to that, you can save a big amount of time (post, fax, transport, ...). Besides your own advantages, you are saving trees in the rainforest.
How to save trees with Vit2Print
With the Vit2Print applications CorrectVit and TransVit you are able to save up to 3 to 5 (*) times the amount of used paper volume because document corrections and translations are executed in a web browser after which they are automatically placed into the InDesign document.
CorrectVit is an online platform that speeds up the correction rounds during the creation of a document. Users correct their own documents online and by this waste less paper, because they no longer feel the need to print the document to and correct it. These things happen in a web interface and are executed automatically in the background by the Adobe InDesign Server.
Looking at TransVit, the online translation management module, we can dig up the same story. A faster, more cost-effective production with the ecological bonus of reducing the amount of paper that is wasted. With this tool the translation is done in a web browser and all languages are placed automatically in the InDesign document, due to the Adobe InDesign Server in the background.
(*) Figures are calculated on experiences of current users of those modules. For CorrectVit we took an average of 3 to 5 correction rounds before a document is finished. For TransVit we took an average of 3 to 5 languages that required translation and needed to be placed into the InDesign document.
